Independent assurance stays independent
EXTRIMPA provides consulting and readiness support. A SOC 2 report follows an examination by an independent CPA firm; it is not a certification. ISO/IEC 27001 certification is issued by an independent certification body. EXTRIMPA does not issue SOC 2 reports or ISO certificates, and readiness work cannot guarantee an examination or certification outcome.

Do we need both SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001?
Not necessarily. The right choice depends on your customer requirements, markets, operating model and assurance goals. We can help map those needs and define a manageable scope.
Can you prepare us for a SOC 2 Type 1 or Type 2 examination?
We can assess readiness and help organize controls, ownership and evidence for the examination approach selected with your independent CPA firm. The examiner determines the examination procedures and issues any report.
Can we use one control program for both?
Some controls and evidence may support both efforts. Each standard has its own requirements, scope and independent assurance process, so the mapping needs to be validated against your environment and objectives.
Will readiness work guarantee a report or certificate?
No. Readiness work helps identify and address gaps. The independent CPA firm or certification body determines the outcome of its examination or certification process.
